Turn principles into observable working actions

  • Explore and integrate: use credible sources and connect them to your business.
  • Define the output, intended use and completion criteria.
  • Verify facts and improve the method through actual feedback.

Why call the brand Broadlatus AI · 博纳图是? More important than the name's origin is how its four Chinese characters relate to everyday work.

The name expresses an approach I want to follow: look more widely, connect information to my own business, define what I want to accomplish, and check the result against reality.

The Chinese name, read as Bo, Na, Tu and Shi, also represents four principles I use when working with AI. They are both a brand philosophy and methods that need to be put into practice.

Why four principles?

AI tools can now do more than answer questions in a chat box. In a suitable environment, they can assist with actual tasks. A fluent answer alone is not enough: the task needs a usable result.

That gives me a practical standard for the four principles.

Bo: explore broadly, and check your sources

Bo conveys breadth.

In AI-assisted work, it reminds me not to base a judgment on a single source. Important conclusions still need to be checked against original evidence.

Models are trained on large amounts of data, but using an assistant for a particular business also requires relevant context. Additional sources help when they are relevant, reliable and appropriately authorized for use. More is not always better: outdated, conflicting and irrelevant information needs to be filtered.

This matters especially when an assistant can use tools. A capable model with little relevant knowledge about your business may still produce work with little practical substance. It needs suitable materials to work with.

Na: integrate thoughtfully into your business

Na is about taking information in and making it part of a coherent context.

That includes more than views you already agree with. Different perspectives, including opposing ones, are worth understanding and comparing.

Then connect them with the facts of your own situation: your products, customers, constraints and working rules.

This is how an AI assistant becomes relevant to your work. Otherwise, the model may be powerful while its output remains disconnected from what you actually need.

Tu: define the outcome

Tu carries the sense of intention and planning: having a picture of where you want to go.

Be clear about the goal and the result you expect to receive.

I find it useful to state the destination before debating the route.

A vague objective leaves the assistant guessing. More speed or capability does not fix a task whose desired outcome has never been defined.

Shi: verify in practice

Shi is the most demanding of the four principles.

For me, it connects to seeking truth from facts: understanding how things actually relate, respecting rules and checking whether a result holds up in use.

It also points to a broader requirement. AI needs to serve people and operate within meaningful responsibilities.

However capable a model becomes, someone still has to set the direction, inspect important results and accept responsibility for decisions. People give the work its purpose.

Bring all four back to the same task

Explore broadly. Integrate thoughtfully. Define the outcome. Verify in practice.

Use varied, credible sources. Understand different views. Connect them to the business. Know what you intend to produce. Then review the work against facts, working rules and real feedback.

In practice, you may start by clarifying the objective, then gather information, connect it to your context, produce an output and check it. These principles constrain each other. You can move back and forth; they are not a rigid, universal sequence.

What matters is that all four are present: evidence behind information, context behind organization, an objective behind the output, and a person responsible for review.

I chose the name. In working with it, I also found a useful way to describe how I want to work.

PUT THE METHOD TO WORK

Start with one small task. Expand after reviewing it.

Use an anonymized sample, follow the steps and check the facts, sources and next action. Toolkits run in your own assistant and working folder. Read each product’s requirements, supported tools and permission guidance before using it.
